The FIFPRO World 11, honoring the year's top male and female footballers as chosen by the International Federation of Professional Footballers, was initially known as the FIFPRO World 11. It was established in 2005 with the intention of recognizing the finest footballers as voted by their peers. In 2009, a partnership with FIFA led to the renaming of the award to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," or the FIFA Annual Best Team, while maintaining the original voting process. Commencing in 2024, FIFPRO will independently manage the award and revert to its original title: the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year, chosen through a vote by professional players from across the globe, stands as the sole international accolade in football entirely decided by its athletes. The criteria for the selection of the players' performances are based on a time frame from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, during which candidates must have participated in at least 30 official matches.
The final lineup will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, with the remaining spots filled by the non-goalkeeper player who secures the highest number of votes.
